Collectors queue up to buy Bob Dylan pictures

BOB Dylan is famed for his music but he is about to be revealed as a big noise in the art world when his latest limited edition graphics go on sale.

The signed prints, the latest in Dylan’s Drawn Blank Series, went on sale simultaneously today in all 33 Castle Galleries outlets in the UK.

In the Castle Galleries in Newcastle’s Monument Mall, they were bracing themselves for this morning’s 9am opening when not only the shop but the phone lines were expected to be buzzing.

Manager Anthony Dorman said past experience had told him and his staff to expect brisk business. “In one case, all 295 prints in an edition sold out inside 20 minutes.

“Bob Dylan is really massive for all the galleries. We have taken calls about this at crazy hours of the night from places like America and Japan.”

The latest Dylan graphics are being sold exclusively through the UK gallery chain owned by fine art publisher Washington Green but in the global era this is no hindrance to collectors overseas interested in the sales.
