TALENTED young singer Georgia Overton says life’s been a “blur” since winning over the judges on Britain’s Got Talent.
Viewers saw the 17-year-old from Northumberland on the hit ITV1 show at the weekend, where she impressed music mogul Simon Cowell with her rendition of the Nina Simone classic, Feeling Good.
Georgia, from Acklington, says she was nervous to perform in front of the crowd and the judging panel, which also includes actress Amanda Holden and former Mirror editor Piers Morgan.
However, her nerves certainly didn’t show on screen, as the millions of people watching across the nation were treated to a strong and confident performance.
Georgia, who is now through to the next round, said: “Before my audition, I was worried about performing for the judges.
“I am very conscious about what people think and I really wanted to gain their good opinion.
“I was really pleased with what the judges said and the whole day seemed to pass like a dream. It’s been a blur ever since.”
Georgia, who used to attend Gosforth High School in Newcastle, is now studying for a diploma in performance and production at Newcastle College.
During the two-year course, she will be taught what goes on behind-the-scenes in the music industry, as well as gaining practical experience on the stage.
“I am not bothered about fame, or being a celebrity, or anything like that. I just want to sing,” she said.
“I just want to enjoy this experience and learn from it. I hope that it helps to raise my profile and get me noticed more, so I can improve as a performer.”
Despite her years, Georgia already has a wealth of experience being in the spotlight.
