CELEBRITY fashion designer Scott Henshall is on the hunt for a senior supermodel to prove women can look fab at 40.
The North East frock star, whose clothes have been worn by the likes of Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Victoria Beckham, is fronting a new reality television show called Kitchen Sink to Catwalk.
From the makers of Britain’s Next Top Model, the programme follows six women aged 40 and over as they compete to become the latest big thing in modelling.
The ladies are given the chance to fulfil their modelling potential and compete in a series of challenges, experiencing re-styling, high fashion, pampering and catwalk training.
They will all live in the same house as they fight for a feature in national magazine ‘She’ and representation by top modelling agency Models 1, who have represented big names such as Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell.
Speaking from his home in Hartlepool, Scott, says: “The exciting thing is that these are normal women in their 40s and 50s. It’s a really groundbreaking show.
“We auditioned women up and down the country and we have whittled it down to six women from all different social backgrounds and put them together in a house.
“They have to take part in different challenges such as fashion shoots.
“They are not eliminated, like other model shows, it’s not cruel, it’s a really upbeat and positive show about older women.
“It’s quite exciting because it’s about real women and I think viewers will find it inspiring.”
