Music industry entrepreneur backs Chance to Change event

PAUL Campbell never regarded himself as an entrepreneur. Like many other successful business people, he almost began his own company by accident – but he has not looked back since.
Having started his career with the BBC, Mr Campbell become an independent producer before he won a commission from Channel 4 which required him to set up his own limited company.
Around that time, he was also asked to produce a series called Accounting for the Terrified which helped him learn more about running a business.
Although he is the first to admit that life as an entrepreneur has been anything but plain sailing, he certainly has no regrets about becoming his own boss.
The success of his company, the Amazing Group, is testament to his decision to set up his own business. The group is dedicated to “using technology to improve people’s lives” and includes an educational software company and Amazing Tunes, a form of iTunes for unsigned artists. His latest venture is Amazing Radio – the first radio station in the world that allows its listeners to choose the content and play only brand new music.
Later this month, Mr Campbell will be sharing the ups and downs of life as an entrepreneur at the Chance to Change conference. The event, organised by the Entrepreneurs Forum, is aimed at people who are reconsidering their careers either as the result of redundancy, uncertainty over their current position or simply through choice.
