Region's religious leaders tell of hopes for 2010

CHRISTMAS is about a baby. Everybody loves a baby. babies bring out the very best in us most of the time.

The thing that we all seem to find difficult is that grownups were once upon a time babies, when we loved them to bits.

The Christmas message tells us that everybody is infinitely precious to God, in the same way that a young baby is infinitely precious to his or her parents.

Perhaps what we ought to try to do in the New Year is to treat everybody with that wonderful God-given respect.

That would help to make the world a better place for everyone.
