Couple move to Australia via 22 different countries

Jonny said: “The top three places we visited would be Morocco, Galapagos and Bora Bora. Each were very different but amazing in their own way.

“The highlight of the trip was the wildlife along the way. We have swum with sea turtles, sting rays, various types of shark and sea lions all from the back of our boat.

“We’ve seen whales, dolphins, and a myriad of tropical fish as well as iguanas and giant tortoise in the Galapagos Islands. I think the biggest high though would just be watching the sunset from the boat when we were anchored in a tropical lagoon, all by ourselves, with blue waters and palm fringed beaches.

“There have been so many times we have had to pinch ourselves.”

Mr Harrison was given a career break by his bosses and has now been given a secondment programme in Australia.

The pair bought their boat in 2006 and fitted it out with the help of friends and family. They set sail on July 18, 2008 and arrived in Sydney last month.

Mr Harrison added: “I miss Newcastle but I know that if I get too home sick there is always a Geordie Bay in Perth and even though I’ve missed my family and friends back home, you can’t complain too much when you’re sitting on a beach in Bora Bora.”
