SPORTING star Darren Bent swapped his football kit for something more formal yesterday as he donned some striking clothes for charity.

The Sunderland footballer, along with Real Radio DJ Kelly Scott, held a photoshoot to raise awareness for a charity catwalk show.

It was held by the club’s Fashion Strikers foundation. A separate evening event to be held later in the month will feature live performances, a champagne reception and a three-course meal.

Among the guests will be several members of the Sunderland first team who will help to raise cash for the charity.

The evening will be held in association with clothes designer Jules B and the hair and beauty will be by Reds.

The charity helps more than 30,000 children in the North East every year.

They offer help and advice, the chance to gain skills and qualifications and they offer family learning and community regeneration. The event is to be held on Monday November 23 at the Stadium of light in Sunderland.
