Crack cocaine and heroin addict Jordan Barnes

A SOLICITOR was set upon by a crack cocaine and heroin addict who tried to steal his car in a daylight attack.

Lawyer Michael Brown, based in Sunderland, had been on his way to get his car from a car park when he was attacked by Jordan Barnes.

As Mr Brown was putting something in the passenger door, thug Barnes approached him and demanded the car keys.

Now Barnes, 25,of Rutland Street, Sunderland, has been locked up for three years after admitting the attempted robbery of the solicitor and helping his sister steal a £1,000 necklace in another robbery.

Jailing him, Judge Guy Whitburn said: “This type of robbery is very serious. A man was beaten by you in order to obtain his keys. For a young man you’ve got a very bad record indeed.”

Mr Brown had been heading to the parking space on Frederick Street, Sunderland, which he has rented for 10 years, when he was attacked by Barnes.

At around 1.30pm on November 14 last year Barnes approached him and tried to get the keys off him.
