Enchanted Parks event to return to Saltwell Park

ILLUMINATED artwork, fairytales and markets will give Tyneside a magical makeover.
Families will be able to take part in a number of events during the NewcastleGateshead Winter Festival to get into the Christmas spirit.
The return of Enchanted Parks will see Gateshead’s Saltwell Park transformed into a magical setting of wintertime stories and adventures, based on the carol Twelve Days of Christmas.
As darkness falls, visitors will be able to follow the visual and performing arts will trail through the park.
Festivities will continue through the evening and in bars, clubs and other venues across the city as South American and South Asian elements of carnival traditions blend in with northern traditions.
Stella Hall, creative director of culture10, said: “In addition to the traditional, our unique and special events which are absolutely free and provide every opportunity to bring the family together and experience something amazing in the time leading up to Christmas.”
