Man questioned over murder of Leeds University student Joseph Cook

A MAN was last night being questioned in connection with the murder of Tyneside student Joseph Cook.

Detectives investigating the 20-year-old’s death in Leeds arrested a 30-year-old man in the city yesterday.

He was last night being quizzed on suspicion of murder.

Joseph, of Fenham in Newcastle, was found stabbed to death at his student digs on August 31.

A post mortem revealed that he died of multiple stab wounds, and a manhunt was launched by West Yorkshire Police.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “We have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the investigation into the murder of Joseph Cook.”

Joseph, had recently moved into the shared house in the Leeds’ Hyde Park area, and was about to start his second year of study at Leeds Metropolitan University.
