THREE people arrested in connection with a murder in Newcastle have been bailed.
Two men and a woman were quizzed by murder detectives following the death of Thomas White.
The 62-year-old’s body was discovered in his house, in the city’s West End, on Monday. Police went to the property, in Ronald Drive, Denton, at around 5.15pm, after a member of Mr White’s family raised concerns that no one had heard from him for a couple of days.
His body was found inside the semi-detached home, and a murder investigation was launched.
A man and a woman aged 56 and 48, were arrested soon after, and a 20-year-old man, was arrested 24-hours later.
All three have now been bailed until August 24.
The Journal understands that the victim lived at the house with his partner.
People living on the street described them as a lovely but quiet couple.
Neighbour, Christine Robson, 63, said: “I didn’t know them very well but they seemed like a lovely couple.”
Maureen Jennings, 66, added: “I used to speak to him every now and then.
“He was a very nice man.”
Tests are still being carried out to establish exactly how he died.
