They've got the nose-how to raise charity cash

A seal at Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth helps launch the Marie Curie

A BLOOMING Great Tea Party is being held on behalf Marie Curie Cancer Care by the seals and divers of an aquarium.

The free party is being held by the Blue Reef Aquarium, Tynemouth, at St Thomas the Martyr Church, Haymarket, Newcastle on Saturday from 1pm to 3pm.

Barbara Cranston, fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “Apart from tea and biscuits, which have been kindly donated by Ringtons, there are lots of stalls for everyone to enjoy including hand-made jewellery, crafts, hand carved walking sticks, cakes, jams, children’s and adults tombolas and much, much more. All of the money raised will go to the Newcastle Marie Curie Hospice in the west end of Newcastle. “

Marie Curie Hospice provides a free service for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and their families across the North East.

At the Newcastle hospice Marie Curie cares for over 400 people as in-patients as well as offering an extensive day care service for out-patients. The charity also has a team of dedicated Marie Curie Nurses offering people end of life care in their own home.

The services are offered to patients free of charge.
