We want you to recreate World Cup moments
Jul 14 2009 The Journal
JOURNAL readers can throw their weight behind the regions bid to host World Cup games in 2018 or 2022 by recreating their favourite moments from past tournaments.
Newcastle and Gateshead want to become a host city as part of Englands bid to stage either the 2018 or 2022 tournaments.
Sunderland is also hoping to hold group stage games at the Stadium of Light.
To generate support for the bids, we are urging people, young and old, from all walks of life, to send us videos of their personal World Cup highlights and we will post them on our website.
The footage can be as professional or as slapdash as you like, as long as it shows you, your friends or family acting out a classic moment.
Whether it be a great goal from Pele, Cameroon striker Roger Milla dancing at the corner flag or Roberto Baggios penalty miss in the 1994 final, we are looking for as wide a range of clips as possible.
Films recorded on a mobile phone are of a high enough quality to send in but those with more sophisticated equipment are welcome to show us their talents. And if you cant find a football pitch, use your back garden or even pretend your living room is staging the World Cup final.
