Northern Sinfonia perform one night special

MUSIC lovers are invited to enjoy a summer concert of the classics.

The Northern Sinfonia – resident orchestra at The Sage, Gateshead – and their youth choir, Quay Voices, will perform a one-night show at the recently redeveloped Trinity Church, Gosforth, Newcastle.

The evening will include works by Mendelssohn, Purcell, Brahms, Britten and Whittaker and starts with a talk on the history of the Chorus by Chorus Master Alan Fearon.

Guests will also be treated to strawberries and cream and a glass of wine before the concert starts.

Colin Gregg, of Trinity Church, said: “This is just the type of concert we had in mind when we redeveloped Trinity. To have the Northern Sinfonia Chorus and Quay Singers performing in Gosforth is a great privilege.

“Added to that we have the Chorus Master Alan Fearon presenting an entertaining talk on the history of the Chorus.

“We hope the community of Gosforth and those who love music will turn out to make this a fantastic evening.”

The concert is at the church, in Gosforth High Street, tomorrow starting at 7pm.

Tickets are £10 and include refreshments. They are available from Trinity reception on (0191) 285 6130 or The Sage box office on (0191) 443 4661.
