Quiz victory cash is given to a charity

A CHARITY has been helped by accountants.

Workers at Sunderland-based TTR Barnes had won first place in a region-wide quiz.

And they decided to give the £400 cash prize to mental health charity Headlight.

The winning team of director Trevor Thorne, tax manager Katie Buckley, tax assistant Charlotte Ringer and accounts manager Allan Smith beat competition from teams of mainly Newcastle-based accountants.

The firm has been looking after the books of Sunderland Headlight since 2002.

Mr Thorne said: “We are delighted to be associated with Sunderland Headlight and look forward to continuing to help them as the charity grows.

“The quiz was great fun and we were delighted to win.

“When it came to donating the money we all agreed Headlight was the perfect choice.”

The charity was also awarded £20,000 on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire.
