Deutsche bank stockbroker Anjool Malde falls to death

A university friend described Mr Malde as “a knight in shining armour”.

Ravi Chopra, 23, who studied with Mr Malde at Oxford, said: “It’s a pretty tough situation at the moment – particularly in light of the manner in which he passed. Jools was an incredibly dedicated friend. He wouldn’t think twice about putting himself out for the people around him, no matter how much else was going on. He was a knight in shining armour.”

The trainee lawyer added that his friend was “one of the most sensitive people” he had ever known, and had a “tireless” enthusiasm for life. “He was tireless in trying to better himself and cram as much into his life as possible,” he said.

“He hardly slept as he filled each day with his passions: his job, his social life, his events company and his music.

“He was one of the most sensitive people I’ve ever known. He had a softness to his demeanour that made you feel loved.

“He wouldn’t just sit down and let the world go by. He’d attack every day and, if there was any way he could improve what he saw around him, he’d take it. He was generous with his time and his affection. I feel like a bit of me’s been ripped out.”

A City of London police spokesman confirmed the death was not being treated as suspicious and added: “Police have identified the man who fell to his death on Poultry on Sunday as Anjool Malde.”

Coq d’Argent refused to comment, referring inquiries to City of London Police.

Mr Malde, whose parents live in Yarm, was based in central London and Marbella in Spain, according to his internet profile.
