Fine weather shines on North East

Sun-lovers have also been flocking to the coast, making the most of the warm weather by sunbathing on the sands and going in the sea.
Hopes are high the good weather will continue for The Alnwick Garden's summer arts and crafts fair this weekend in Northumberland. Visitors to the fair will get the chance to meet designers and makers, join in hands-on activities, and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea as well as snapping up some hand-made creations.
The Alnwick Garden is one of the North East’s treasures and is the perfect way to see in the days of summer June will hopefully bring.
This month also sees the first flush of roses in the Rose Garden at Alnwick, where pathways below pergolas swathed in roses, honeysuckle and clematis lead through tumbling masses of fragrant roses, a mix of climbing, shrub, old and English varieties.
In County Durham, Bowes Museum is celebrating Paddington Bear’s birthday with a free outdoor teddy bear’s picnic.
Poorly teddies can even be treated to some Teddy TLC at the ‘first aid’ tent where newly-qualified doctors will be on hand with bandages and plasters.
But forecasters say the sunshine will not to last.
Cloud is predicted to build over the weekend, with the chance of rain on Saturday.
