Serious injuries to Blyth assault victim’s face

One woman, who did not give her name, said: “It is not nice. It is usually youths causing trouble, but that is quite serious. This area has gone downhill.”
A police spokeswoman said: “A 45-year-old local man was found with serious facial injuries in Wensleydale Terrace, Blyth, in Northumberland at shortly after 1am.
“A Volkswagen Golf car belonging to the injured man was parked nearby which had also been damaged, it had broken windows and damage to the car body which police believe is linked to the man’s injuries.
“Earlier on Friday evening police were informed that there had been an altercation at the Ridley Park Hotel on Wensleydale Terrace, Blyth, and it is believed that the two incidents may be linked.”
Officers would like to hear from anyone who has any information regarding the incident at the Ridley Park hotel and how the man came to be injured and his car came to be damaged.
