Pixar animator Warren Trezevant

FILM whizz Warren Trezevant returns to Tyneside today to inspire the designers of tomorrow.

The former Northumbria University graduate and now top Pixar animator has worked on several classic animated films that have scooped millions at the box office including Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, WALL:E and Ratatouille.

Warren is animator and creative lead for Dimensional Animation at the academy award-winning Pixar Animation Studios in California.

He will deliver the keynote speech at Northumbria University’s School of Design’s Reveal: The Future of Design conference, a two-day event that will attract delegates from some of the world's best-known brands.

In 2001, Pixar released Monsters Inc., which took over $100 million at the United States’ box office in just nine days, faster than any animated film in history at the time of its release. In 2003, Pixar’s Finding Nemo broke every one of Monsters Inc's opening weekend box office records set only 18 months earlier, while Finding Nemo generated $865 million at the global box office.

The conference, today and tomorrow, will also launch this year’s graduating students' design exhibition, Reveal 09, featuring eight separate exhibitions.

It will run until June 26 at the School of Design on the City Campus East, and is open to the public.
