Homes of the future go on show at the Guildhall

IDEAS of how we could be living in the future have gone on display in Newcastle. A total of 116 models of homes, submitted by architectural practices, go on show from today at the Guildhall on the city’s Quayside.

The “Make Me a Home” exhibition is part of the launch in the city of the North East Festival of Architecture.

The display reveals the latest thinking on what homes could look like in the coming years.

The exhibition and the festival, which run until June 28, are organised by Newcastle-based Northern Architecture.

The festival is a celebration of architecture, urban design and public spaces across the region with events focusing on Newcastle and Gateshead, Durham, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

There are over 30 events planned ranging from building and walking tours, talks, workshops and exhibitions. For information and to book for events, visit www.nefa.org.uk
