Online revolution will look into our future

THE Great North Revolution is heading online as the North East comes together to map out the industry of the future.

Business leaders, experts and Journal readers will be able to debate the measures needed to ensure the region’s economy is a world leader within decades.

The online forum at www.nebusiness.co.uk/revolution will allow anyone with an eye on the future to have their say on how we get there.

And alongside will be regular updates and news on the five areas identified as key to the region’s success.

Online viewers are able to see for themselves the stories behind the Great North Revolution, including news on low-carbon transport, healthcare sciences and new energy.

Sarah Green, regional director at the CBI North East, said: “I think it is critical that the region buys into this, so we can have a proper debate about the future of the region.

“This offers us the perfect place, day or night, to let people have their say on what they think we are doing right or on where we should be focusing.

“We see this very much as a modern version of the Lit and Phil, where people can come together to set out their hopes and ideas for the future.

“We’ll still have physical meetings, but these virtual meetings will allow people from across the region to have their say.”
