Hip Hop stars take to the Newcastle Theatre Royal stage

“Bad Taste Cru in particular were heavily involved. We had a great time. It is such an inclusive context, we want dancers to join in and we want to house hip hop in the theatre.”

Mum-of-two Leanne Alexander, from Heaton, Newcastle, was at the event with her nine-year-old daughter Marion.

The 32 year old said: “There was so much energy and it is very creative. I think Marion would love to get into something similar. We have never seen anything like it before, but it was certainly entertaining.”

As well as bringing some of the biggest names in breakdancing to the region, the Convention also tapped into the wealth of North East hip-hop talent.

E-Yeah, Urban Kaos, Fort Fresh Crew and the award-winning Bad Taste Cru were also present.
