An Evening with the outgoing Poet Laureate

UNDER its new chief executive, The Maltings in Berwick has undergone a make-over of its 309-seat main house theatre.

The arts centre has been transformed into a luxurious theatre promising a night to remember.

Culture Club members have the chance to win a pair of tickets to attend an evening with the outgoing poet laureate Andrew Motion, whose replacement, Carol Ann Duffy, has just been announced.

It takes place on Thursday, May 14, from 7.30pm, as part of the Berwick Festival of the Spoken Word which runs until Sunday, May 17.

The festival is a celebration of verbal art forms – from poetry to prose and fiction to non-fiction – designed to bring together authors and artists through a number of inclusive events.
