Double triumph for Jemma

GLOUCESTER Lodge Farm’s Easter-staged South Essex Insurance Broker BHS Cross Country qualifiers paid off handsomely for double qualifier Jemma Henderson who took both the Novice and Pairs Championship, riding Tonto.

Jemma was persuaded to enter the qualifier by her pairs partner Kelly Grey, riding Deifenbaker, who was at the 2008 qualifier. Kerry Armstrong from Wallsend secured her novice championship qualifier place with her 10-year-old ex-point to pointer, Riddick.

Birtley’s Amy Auld has two open rides going to Eland Lodge on September 27. Amy, who re-schools ex-race horses, qualified Julie Kay’s 10-year-old Phinda Forest. Her second horse, Lipstick Red, a 14-year-old bay homebred mare by Mileau, shared the second open qualifier space with 17-year-old Katy Jackson’s Laharden Lady, a nine-year-old bay Irish Sports Horse.
