A STAR-STUDDED cast has been lined up to play a charity golf tournament. More than 20 celebrities have been confirmed to pay the event at Northumberland’s Slaley Hall on May 1.
Soap stars Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone in Coronation Street and Charlie Clements (Bradley in EastEnders), will battle it out alongside a range of other big names including former Newcastle United stars Rob Lee and Chris Waddle, Big Brother heartthrob Ziggy Lichman and BBC presenter Nick Knowles.
The event is in aid of Durham-based charity The Youth Ministry Team, headed by Father Dermott Donnelly, brother of TV star Declan.
The charity is currently developing a Youth Village in the Derwent Valley which will offer state-of-the-art facilities and accommodation for local schools and community groups.
Entertainment on the night will include Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend finalist Emma Beard performing her new single, and Music Means Life competition winner Karen Harding.
Event organiser, Gary Thompson said: “We have lots more surprise performances in store.
“Karen is making waves within the music industry at the moment and I’m sure that the guests will be amazed at her performance, especially when they discover she is only 17.
“We are hoping Ant and Dec may make an appearance to support Dec’s brother.”
