Portal showcasing North East talent is relaunched

More than 300 artists, musicians and writers have made use of Bryonie’s know-how and networking skills during the past three years, so large numbers are expected to sign-up to the listings over the coming months – although more are always welcome.
A number of sections are still waiting to be added to the site, including the galleries, where art admirers will be able to see pieces of work being exhibited and put up for sale.
Eventually the site – which is a not-for-profit, voluntary initiative – will extend to cover all areas of creativity, including an unsigned bands area.
Bryonie, who works for the Citizens Advice Bureau, to fund her love of art, said: “I’m just so passionate about it.
“I’ve seen so many people get involved in events and exhibitions and lose their passion along the way because there wasn’t enough support for them.
“I want the Big Eye Network to help people like that and to show the world what we’re doing in the North East. I’m sure there’s plenty of people in the region who still don’t realise the wealth of talent there is here.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the site grow over the first half of this year. I’m confident it’s going to go from strength to strength.
“In the meantime, if anyone needs help locating something or someone in the arts world, just by getting in touch with Big Eye we’ll able to help.”
