HUNDREDS of Newcastle United fans will stage a mass protest after anger erupted over the club’s plight.
The supporters will vent their frustration at owner Mike Ashley and his board at a demonstration, which will take place an hour before the Magpies’ televised clash with Everton.
Newcastle United Supporters Club has secured the backing of police to gather at Grey’s Monument at 3pm on February 22.
The rally was announced at NUSC’s latest meeting at the Tyneside Irish Centre. NUSC spokesman Michael Ord said: “Everybody we have spoken to is behind this idea and we want as many people as possible to get involved.
“There are an awful of people who are absolutely fed-up.
“In the space of two years, we have gone from being a buying club to a selling club.”
NUSC now has around 800 members and the latest meeting was broadcast via the internet to fans around the world.
