Charity honours work of Denise and Tim

Denise Welch and Tim Healy

TIM Healy and Denise Welch will be honoured at a glittering Variety Club lunch tribute next month.

The popular couple will be joined by friends, family and a host of well- known faces at Newcastle Civic Centre on September 12.

Music, memories, raffles, an auction and a four-course meal will all be on the menu, as well as some pretty special guests.

Sir Bobby Robson, Jack Charlton, Robson Green, Bobby Moncur, Denise Robertson, Jill Halfpenny, Ray Laidlaw, Glenn McCrory and Loose Women Zoe Tyler and Coleen Nolan are among the many stars of stage, sport, screen and music who are expected to attend.

Bob Gladwin, events chairman at the Variety Club Northern Region, said: “This is the first joint silver heart tribute we have given. This is the highest accolade the club can give and there couldn’t be two more deserving recipients.

“Both Tim and Denise have done so much for us over the years. They have never said no when we’ve asked them to do something. Only recently Tim drove up from Manchester to present a Sunshine Coach to Percy Hedley School and drove straight back on the same day. It should be a very warm and wonderful occasion.”

Mike Neville and Pam Royle will host the luncheon, which will raise funds for the Variety Club.

Tickets, priced at £100, are available now.
