Young woman killed in car crash

A young woman died after she lost control of her car and it hit a tree in South Tyneside.

Stacey Rodgers, 23, from The Willows in Jarrow, crashed on the A194, Leam Lane, Jarrow, in the early hours of Sunday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene while a male passenger was taken to South Tyneside General Hospital with a broken arm.
