Kevins bursting out all over the garden

THERE’S only one Kevin Keegan, according to the chants from St James’s Park.
But visitors to one of the North’s most popular tourist attractions this weekend might find an altogether different picture.
For bosses at the Alnwick Garden are joining in the celebrations about Special K’s return to Newcastle United which could turn the tranquil grounds into a sea of black and white.
The garden is offering free entrance on Sunday to anyone called Kevin.
And in addition to the Keegan namesakes, anyone who arrives dressed as the Newcastle manager or anyone who arrives in their black and white shirt will also get in free.
With Newcastle’s double-header at Arsenal in London on Saturday and Tuesday, it is unlikely that the region’s most famous Kevin will be around for the day.
But Clare Ralph, marketing and communications manager at the Alnwick Garden, last night said he would be more than welcome to come and see their thousands of plants, water features and tree house.
Clare said: “Everyone’s talking about Kevin Keegan returning and the fever has really swept across the North-East.
“We just wanted to join in the celebrations and decided to do something a bit different.”
Kevins will need to show some identification at the entrance, while everyone else simply needs to show up in their Keegan outfits and/or club colours.
The Alnwick Garden is open from 10am-4pm on Sunday.
