Hunt for missing disabled man

CONCERNS are growing for the welfare of a 60-year-old disabled man missing from North Tyneside, police said yesterday.

Wesley Sillitoe of Windermere Drive, Killingworth, has been missing since 11am on Monday.

He is described as 5ft 11in, large build and weighing 16st. He wears glasses, has a white/red complexion and has short cropped receding grey hair with prominent side burns and tattoos on his forearms.

Mr Sillitoe was wearing a blue, short-sleeved shirt, a navy blue fleece, a V-neck jumper, black, waist-length jacket, dark trousers and black velcro fasten boots.

He has difficulty walking and uses a stick with a chrome shaft and black handle.

He needs daily medication which he does not have with him.

Police have been carrying out a search of the Killingworth area using officers, dogs and a police helicopter.

They are also making inquiries of friends and people in the area.
