Teenagers given Asbos
Dec 12 2006 By The Journal
Three teenagers whose behaviour has disrupted the lives of their communities have been given Anti Social Behaviour Orders after work by Northumbria Police.
Although the cases are not related, all are due to work by Northumberland Area Command's Neighbourhood Support Unit.
Liam Clerkson, 16, of Lynwood Avenue, Newbiggin, Andrea Iley, 19, from Holmdale, Hexham and Shane Allison, 18, of Beaconsfield Street, Blyth, are all banned from carrying out anti-social acts in their towns for two years, and in Allison's case, all of South East Northumberland.
Drivers injured
TWO drivers were taken to hospital after a three-car smash.
The motorists were injured when a Peugeot 406 was overtaking a Saab and crashed into a Peugeot 206 in the opposite carriageway of the A177 Stockton Road, near Tesco, at 5.45pm on Sunday.
A 19-year-old woman, from Gosforth, Newcastle, driving the Peugeot 206, broke her leg and was taken to North Tees Hospital, as was the 31-year-old male driver of the other Peugeot who suffered injuries to his pelvis. The Saab driver was unhurt.
Name in lights
BOSSES at the new £16m Woodhorn Museum and Archives Centre at Ashington are offering someone the chance to have their name up in lights this winter.
A competition has been launched with the winner getting their name and a personal message emblazoned on the attraction's main `cutter' building.
Entrants have to guess how many lights are used to illuminate the building, which has been lit up as part of the Northumberland Lights winter festival.
Entries must be submitted by December 18, either by following the link on the website www.experiencewoodhorn.com or filling in an entry card at the museum's reception.
The person who guesses closest to the actual number will get the chance to have a message of their choice and their name transformed into lights to be shone from the building's walls over the Christmas holiday period.
