Original artwork for a new children's book goes on display at the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery, Durham City, from December 19 to January 7.
Newcastle artist Jamie Patterson is collaborating with writer Chloe Corkhill on a book for pre-teens.

BRICKLAYER Ryan Tennant has been named Apprentice of the Year in awards run by South Tyneside Homes.
Ryan, 19, of South Shields, has just completed his apprenticeship with the company.
He said: "It just goes to show what a bit of hard work, commitment and encouragement can do."
Not forgotten
A CHRISTMAS Remembrance Service is being held on Saturday at Carlisle Crematorium Chapel.
The service will begin at 3pm and is expected to last around half an hour.
It will be lead by Richard Corrie of BBC Radio Cumbria and donations will go to Eden Valley Hospice.
Road to future
A STREET in Ashington, Northumberland, has become the centre of project to cut fuel bills.
People in Castle Terrace are being given the opportunity to cut energy bills by up to 60%, partly by using energy-efficient appliances.
Called Lo Carb Lane, it is being developed by Wansbeck Local Strategic Partnership, Northumberland Warm Zone and National Energy Action.
All aboard
CHRISTMAS entertainment is on offer aboard HMS Tincomalee at Hartlepool's Maritime Experience tomorrow.
The programme includes carol singing led by the Hartlepool Youth and Community Silver Band and starts at 7pm in the captain's cabin.
New beginning
A FORMER soldier from Newcastle who has begun to rebuild his career, despite suffering from social anxiety, a general fear of people or society, has won an employment charity's Award for Achievement.
Doug Oliver, 46, was honoured by Tomorrow's People, in its national awards ceremony, for his determination to find work, despite personal adversity.
He was presented with a certificate and voucher by Tomorrow's People patron the Countess of Wessex at the awards ceremony in London.
