Armed raid on pub for peace

A pub which promotes peace, understanding and friendliness has been targeted by masked raiders.
The Trent House Inn, on Leazes Lane in Newcastle city centre, sells itself on its laid-back attitude and open-to-all policy.
But staff at the popular pub, which is just round the corner from St James's Park, were left shaken and shocked when armed robbers struck on Saturday night.
Workers were just clearing the premises ready to close at 11.45pm when the two masked men entered.
Armed with a baseball bat and a crowbar, the pair threatened staff and demanded cash.
The duo escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a large, dark car. The pub, which is described as the "World Famous Trent House" has the slogan "Drink Here, Be Sincere" and is a big draw with students and staff from the nearby RVI.
Opened in the mid-80s and with a heavy soul theme, the Trent House is run by the same people who own popular nightclub World Head Quarters on Carliol Square.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said the staff were shaken, but unhurt. Their attackers were about 35 or 40 years old and both were about 6ft tall.
One was wearing a blue bomber jacket, while the other had a grey or green jacket on and a scarf wrapped around his face.
