Illegal sales cost £2,000

Three takeaway shop owners in Blyth Valley have each been ordered to pay fines and costs of more than £2,000 for making illegal sales.

A midnight operation in May targeted premises in Blyth and Cramlington selling food or drink after 11pm without the required licence.

EXTRA dates have been added to both Justin Timberlake and the X Factor tour visits to Metro Radio Arena next year.

Justin, who is playing the venue on April 30, will also play on May 1; the X Factor tour, booked to play on February 17, will now play February 16, too.

THE Friends of Ponteland Park have been given £2,000 by Castle Morpeth Council to help pay for information panels at the six entrances.

Homes protest

PARISH councillors and four neighbours have objected to plans to build three terraced town houses at 41 West Road, Ponteland.

Castle Morpeth councillors will make a decision after receiving comments from highways experts and the Environment Agency.

CASTLE Morpeth Council is giving £500 to the Hadston WRVS Happy Club, which allows elderly people to have a hot meal and join activities and outings.
