A charity carol concert in aid of people with learning disabilities took place last night.
Held at St Andrew's Church, Newgate Street, Newcastle, the service began at 6.30pm with traditional Scottish pipers and featured traditional carols as well as Christmas favourites set to a swing beat.
The annual event was organised by Mencap, which works with learning difficulty sufferers and provides support for their families and carers. The service also featured a blessing of children's teddy bears, and guests were able to enjoy a mince pie and wine reception before the festivities got underway.
