Killed by Anthrax

Health experts in the North were last night seeking 20 people who have been in contact with a man who died after being infected with anthrax.

Artist Christopher Norris, from the Scottish Borders, is the UK's first fatal case of the disease for 32 years.

His home, in the remote Stobs area, near Hawick, was sealed off by health experts yesterday as they tried to pinpoint the source of the infection that killed Mr Norris (pictured above).

Health officials last night said they were seeking 20 people who are potentially at risk from the infection.

Mr Norris, 50, died on Saturday.

The last known human victim of the bacteria in the UK was in 1974.
