Girl search called off

A police search for a young girl who was found in a distressed state near Cramlington's Bay Horse Inn at 6.45pm on Tuesday has been called off after her father came forward to explain the situation.

Police appealed for information after receiving a report that the girl, aged five or six, was seen in a distressed condition and ran off after telling a passer-by she was going to Dudley.

Work on show

AN arts and crafts festival featuring the work of local artists will be held at Plessey Woods country park near Bedlington at 11am on Sunday.
