THE Journal has launched its annual search to find the unsung heroes who help to make the Great North Run so special.

From those who have raised thousands for charity, to others taking part in memory of loved ones, we want to recognise dedication to the much-loved half marathon.

The Bupa Great North Run Award, in association with The Journal, will be presented at the Great North Run Hall of Fame Charity Dinner next month.

Entries close on March 31 and the winner will be announced at the Great North Run on April 5.
