Run up to the big day will be just that

MOST brides spend the days before their wedding doing some last-minute pampering.
But for one North East woman, the run up to her big day will be a gruelling 13-mile half marathon alongside her husband-to-be.
Adrienne Buck and her partner Ian Robinson will together take part in this year’s Bupa Great North Run dressed in complete wedding finery, before getting married just days later.
The couple, who will be running for Children with Leukaemia, decided to make their special day even more memorable by marking the occasion with the charity run.
Ian, of Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland, said: “We decided to run as bride and groom as we’re getting married soon after and though it would be fun.
“It just seemed like a really special way to mark the day. It’s something we’ll always be able to look back on.
“I’m going to be in a kilt because Adrienne’s ancestors are all from Scotland and she has a special wedding dress to wear.
“Our friends and family seemed quite shocked when we told them what we were planning to do, but at least we’ll be easy for them to spot in the crowd.
