Jessica's a champion of clean technology

JBT Waste Services has a newly appointed sales executive covering the entire North East region. Jessica Holland who has completed an MSc in Clean Technology at Newcastle University, is now busy visiting construction, housebuilding, manufacturing and service sector companies from Berwick to Teesside to talk to them about recycling and waste management services. This is a freshly created post at Bedlington-based JBT Waste, which recently acquired Chester-le-Street Skip Hire.

Jessica is delighted to have found a post closely related to her degree with a well-established recycling company. Jessica is also pleased that she can stay in the North East, a region she has enjoyed living in while studying at Newcastle University for the past four years.

Jessica said: “It’s great to be part of a company which is moving forward, and it’s fascinating to see clean technology in action at JBT. I’ll be working with local companies to find waste solutions that help them reach recycling targets effectively. There’s a great momentum at JBT, and I’m pleased to have the chance to set off at a good pace.”

Richard Watson, sales manager at JBT Waste Services, is delighted to welcome Jessica to the team. He said: “Jessica is an enthusiastic, highly trained operator which makes her a valuable colleague for our busy team.

“It’s good to be able to retain talented people in the North East. We created this new post in our sales team because of growing opportunities for new customers following our acquisition of a waste services company in Tyne and Wear. It’s great that Jessica’s extremely relevant degrees will be put to practical use here in the region.”

JBT Waste Services has been in waste management for over 30 years. The company takes away all types of waste, such as cement, rubble, plastics and factory waste and recycles it effectively, hugely reducing the amount going to landfill.

The acquisition of Chester-le-Street Skip Hire strengthened JBT’s presence throughout the North East and boosted its recycling and waste management services south of the Tyne.
