Views of Simonside Hills ‘would be ruined by wind farm’
Oct 14 2009 by Tony Henderson, The Journal
Planners say: “Simonside is an iconic feature in the landscape of Northumberland, which can be viewed from many parts of the county. Simonside has strong historic connections and it is even thought it may have been regarded by early man as a sacred mountain.”
The report adds: “The proposed development would result in the introduction of non-natural features which would be highly visible from within 5km of the proposed wind farm, which includes views from the Simonside Hills, the Beacon and Garleigh Moor.”
