Six people, five men, aged 21, 22, 23, 47 and 52, and a woman aged 25 were arrested in connection with the incident but have now been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Now, a further two men, aged 34 and 47, have been arrested and are being questioned by police.
Detectives say two shots were fired and the victim is still recovering in hospital. The weapon is yet to be traced.
Police are stepping up patrols in the area to reassure residents and have said the shooting was not random.
