A MAN threatened shop staff with a bladed weapon in a shock attack.
The thug entered Howard Street Stores, in Battlefield in Newcastle’s East End, at 6.54pm last night, Thursday, January 3.
He threatened staff with a bladed weapon before making off. It is not known at this stage if anything was stolen.
Staff were left shaken but uninjured and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
