WE'RE IN for a breezy, New Year's Day, feeling noticeably colder, but staying dry in most places.
Some scattered showers will arrive, mainly across the Pennines. Showers will be wintry over higher ground.
But many places will remain dry with sunny spells. Everywhere will be breezy and feel noticeably colder than it has been over the previous few days. Maximum Temperature 6 °C.
Tonight will be dry and clear at first, with temperatures quickly falling. The breeze will prevent an air frost from occurring. Later on it will become cloudy, with possible patchy light rain arriving. Minimum Temperature 2 °C.
Tomorrow, expect rain for much of the morning. Through the afternoon, places east of the Pennines will become dry and maybe a little brighter. But rain will linger across the Pennines. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.
