COMMUTERS faced rush-hour delays after signalling problems on the Metro system.
Trains were running late as engineers work to fix the problem near to Gateshead Stadium Metro Station, which had a knock-on effect across the region.
The problem was reported at around 8.30am today.
Bosses at Nexus said passengers were having to wait longer than usual for trains, as train drivers were having to be talked through the signals.
Trains have been running to all destinations but not to timetable.
A Metro spokesman said: "We apologise for the delays. Trains have been running to all destinations but much slower than usual due to the problem with the signals."
