Gateshead mum charged in connection to baby's death

THE MUM of a baby who died of severe head injuries last year has been charged in connection with the youngster's death.

Two-month-old Logan Ormston died on March 20 last year despite desperate efforts to save his life after he was rushed to hospital from his Gateshead home.

Now - following a 12-month investigation by Northumbria Police - a spokesman has confirmed that the babys mum, Courtney Ormston, 20, of Bondicar Road, Morpeth, has been charged with causing death/serious harm to a child.

Courtneys ex-partner, Karl Walker, 24, of Friars Dene Road, Gateshead, has also been charged with murder and a joint charge of causing death/serious harm to a child.

A force spokeswoman said: Both Walker and Ormston will appear at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court at 2pm today.
