Bournmoor emergency stood down

Emergency services stood down the alert in Bournmoor, near Chester-le-Street shortly before midnight on Friday.

Police said the items were assessed by military experts and found to be no risk to the public.

The cordon has been lifted and all residents allowed to return to their homes.
