Cheryl Cole to front US version of X Factor
GEORDIE favourite Cheryl Cole could be set to front the US version of the X Factor.
The Girls Aloud singer has reportedly been chosen by Simon Cowell to star in the show if it moves across the Atlantic.
Music mogul Cowell hopes that Cheryl’s down-to-earth Geordie charm and big heart will win over the American public.
He is apparently on the brink of signing a deal to take the show to the US, and senior executives from NBC are due to fly to Manchester this weekend to see Cheryl in action at the live auditions.
Cowell, who has an estimated £120m fortune, is also said to want the 26-year-old star to step into his shoes as the main face of the TV talent show on this side of the Atlantic.
He has already announced plans to quit after the next series of the X Factor, which pulls in 15m viewers, instead concentrating on Britain’s Got Talent.
Cheryl celebrated her 26th birthday this week alongside husband Ashley, 28, with a £60,000 surprise party at London’s Vanilla nightclub.
