This summer, visitors to the Jarrow attraction can uncover the secrets of the skeleton, perfect the art of being a ‘fool’ and discover more about the daring conquests of warrior kings and queens by joining in the interactive activities created for young explorers.
The family fun launches with Kings, Queens and Warriors on Saturday, July 18, with mesmerising tales of fierce warriors, conquered kingdoms, queens who fought invaders and princesses who became dragons – all told around a fire on the museum farm.
Then with Secrets of the Skeleton on Monday, July 27 until Friday, July 31, children can gain an insight into what archaeologists do with the skeletons they dig up and what information they can get from them.
Other events include picnic and play sessions, bat walks and the chance to try out traditional crafts such as blacksmithing and spinning. For a full programme visit www.bedesworld.co.uk or call (0191) 489-2106. All activities are included in the admission price to the museum unless stated.
